Sagan was in his mid-thirties at that time. He continued to use cannabis for the rest of his life. I can remember another early visual experience with cannabis, in which I viewed a candle flame and discovered in the heart of the flame, standing with magnificent indifference, the black-hatted and -cloaked Spanish gentleman who appears on the label of the Sandeman sherry bottle. Looking at fires when high, by the way, especially through one of those prism kaleidoscopes which image their surroundings, is an extraordinarily moving and beautiful experience. I want to explain that at no time did I think these things really were out there. I knew there was no Volkswagen on the ceiling and there was no Sandeman salamander man in the flame. I don t feel any contradiction in these experiences.Plenty of Fish Party plymouth gold coast

There s a part of me making, creating the perceptions which in everyday life would be bizarre there s another part of me which is a kind of observer. About half of the pleasure comes from the observer-part appreciating the work of the creator-part. I smile, or sometimes even laugh out loud at the pictures on the insides of my eyelids. In this sense, I suppose cannabis is psychotomimetic, but I find none of the panic or terror that accompanies some psychoses. The cannabis experience has greatly improved my appreciation for art, a subject which I had never much appreciated before. The understanding of the intent of the artist which I can achieve when high sometimes carries over to when I m down. This is one of many human frontiers which cannabis has helped me traverse. There also have been some art-related insights I don t know whether they are true or false, but they were fun to formulate. For example, I have spent some time high looking at the work of the Belgian surrealist Yves Tanguey. Some years later, I emerged from a long swim in the Caribbean and sank exhausted onto a beach formed from the erosion of a nearby coral reef. In idly examining the arcuate pastel-colored coral fragments which made up the beach, I saw before me a vast Tanguey painting. Perhaps Tanguey visited such a beach in his childhood. When I m high I can penetrate into the past, recall childhood memories, friends, relatives, playthings, streets, smells, sounds, and tastes from a vanished era. I can reconstruct the actual occurrences in childhood events only half understood at the time. Free-associating to this mandala, both visually and as plays on words, has produced a very rich array of insights. I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this.

You say. What do you mean Holland? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy. But there's been a change in the flight plan. Bernie Sanders progressive presidential challenge to Hillary Clinton is gaining steam, an old essay of his has surfaced in which he says women fantasize being raped by 8 men simultaneously. A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused, Sanders, 78, wrote in 6977 for an alternative newspaper called the Vermont Freeman. A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 8 men simultaneously. Do you know why the newspapers with articles like Girl, 67, raped by 69 men sell so well?
To what in us are they appealing? Sanders was 85 at the time and was running for both the US Senate and governor of Vermont on the leftist Liberty Union Party line. In 6868, the third president of Amherst asked his fellow college presidents what they thought of this new thing called a. The overwhelming consensus was alarm. They described fraternities as a plague and un-American. They sow dissensions and produce factions, said one president. They have led to greater unkindness and ill feeling than almost anything else in college, said a second. Nothing but evil results, said another. Young rich men invented social fraternities to isolate themselves from their middle-class peers, thumb their nose at the religious values of their professors and wrest control away from the administrators who set their schedules, curricula and objectives. They came to prominence during a period of widespread and largely forgotten. At a time when militias were commonly called in to tamp down riots led by students armed with pistols and flame, the young rich men to whom fraternities appealed were nothing short of a menace. Until the mid-6855s, and in some cases until the turn of the century, university presidents tried valiantly to down. Brown, Princeton and Union, for example, banned secret societies and expelled students who attended unauthorized meetings. Their efforts would fail. Fraternity men consolidated power by placing their own members in every conceivable position of authority on campus. Describing the 6865s, a Yale graduate that fraternity men were said to manage the entire system of college politics. In their free time, fraternity men entertained themselves the same way they do today: with parties that bordered on perilous.
Fraternity men invented the prototypical collegiate party that we now associate with higher education more generally. It isn t enough to have a good time they want their partying to smack of revolt. Russell Simmons, a prolific music and TV producer and co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, was accused of sexual assault and harassment by model Keri Claussen Khalighi in a Nov. 69 in the Los Angeles Times. Simmons then denied the incident in a letter published Nov. 77 by The Hollywood Reporter. The letter prompted Jenny Lumet an award-winning screenwriter ( Rachel Getting Married, The Mummy ), the daughter of filmmaker Sidney Lumet, and granddaughter of singer/activist Lena Horne to pen a response detailing her own experience with Simmons. I have never committed any acts of aggression or violence in my life. I would never knowingly cause fear or harm to anyone. I met you around 6987, through Rick Rubin, who has always been kind to me. Rick knew my sister through NYU and asked me, at the upstairs bar in a nightclub called the Palladium, to be in a movie you were producing that Rick was directing, starring RUN DMC. It was, frankly, a lousy movie, and I was terrible in it. Over the next three or four years, I would see you out and about, at a nightclub called Nell s mostly. I don t recall you and I ever just going out to dinner, or having a one-to-one experience we were always in groups, and we had many, many mutual friends. You were charming and funny and charismatic and self-deprecating. Not being in the music business made it possible for me to relax around you. And you were a fan of my grandmother, respected her, and told me so.
You seemed sincere.
